We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Design and Analysis:

• Develop detailed structural designs for buildingsand other infrastructure projects.
• Use software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000) to model and analyze structural components.
• Conduct load calculations and ensure compliance with local and national building codes.

Project Coordination:

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure that designs meet project specifications and requirements.
• Review construction plans and specifications to ensure structural integrity and feasibility.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team during the construction phase.

Site Inspections and Assessments:

• Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and determine the need for repairs or modifications.
• Ensure that construction is progressing according to the approved structural designs.
• Perform inspections to verify that materials and construction methods meet quality standards.

Risk Assessment and Safety:

• Identify potential structural risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Ensure that all designs meet safety regulations and standards.
• Perform structural assessments to ensure the safety of existing buildings and infrastructure.

Project Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of calculations, designs, reports, and other project documentation.
• Ensure all structural drawings and designs are properly documented and stored.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
• Provide technical support to project managers and other team members.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on the progress of structural designs and assessments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree is an added advantage).
• Licensing/Certification: Professional Engineer license.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in calculations, designs, and inspections.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-engineers and stakeholders.
• Experience: Proven experience in structural design and analysis, particularly in construction projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, SAP2000).
