Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a Non-Profit and Non-governmental Organization in Nigeria which was registered as a corporate body with the Corporate Affairs Commission on the Eleventh (11th) day of July, 2014. The foundation was formed by some eminent survivors of the Insurgency in North-east Nigeria and a few well-meaning Individuals who came together with a vision to see Nigeria a poverty free place where peace will abide and humanity can live freely in harmony.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: WASH Officer

Locations:  Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY)
Contract Duration: 6 Months

Duty Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the WASH Programme Manager/WASH Programme Coordinator, successful candidate will be responsible for daily technical planning, supervision, documentation and reporting of field activities including ensuring proper coordination with community Stakeholders.
  • The WASH Officer will Supervise and monitor the WASH activity implemented in LPF Programme locations, providing support to the field team in terms of coordination and technical support.

Job Description

  • Support the Organization to define programme work plan, support the field staff for its implementation, and reporting Activities as may be required.
  • Supervise the implementation of all project activities.
  • Coordinate with the field team, the municipality focal point and the line managers
  • Support the development and maintenance of external relations particularly with beneficiaries, municipality staff, donors and other NGOs.
  • Supervise subordinates to ensure they are working effectively and to the best of their capacity
  • Participate in staff training, helping to build technical capacity of staff and volunteers in the area of WASH
  • Develop and present Reports for the programme and liaise with his/her Line Manager for onward actions as may be required
  • Report possible problem or conflict including Acts of potential Conflict during the field activities.
  • Report the use of materials and possible improvement.
  • Participate/Support in data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries
  • Participate in conducting assessments, in surveys and monitoring of the project as and when requested.
  • Dedicated participation in all Programme activities, with decent and standardized behaviour towards beneficiaries. donor and LPF staff.
  • Adhere to implementation of standards, LPF ways of working and the terms of the LPF Code of Conduct; including the commitment to zero tolerance on SEA and the obligation to report SEA
  • Be committed to participate to any other work in order to achieved the project goal that may be assigned by the line manager.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate must have obtained a minimum of HND or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Public Health or any other relevant discipline
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Local language and Proficient in English have an advantage.
