Machinist Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Machinist:

  • A high school qualification or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with machine tools and industrial machines.
  • Excellent knowledge of material properties.
  • An apprenticeship involving mechanical operations would be advantageous.
  • Professional knowledge of safety protocols.
