Music Therapist Duties & Responsibilities

The role and function of a Music Therapist includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assessing clients’ needs
  • Exploring a variety of musical styles and sounds with clients through singing, percussion, ethnic instruments and improvisation
  • Providing music therapy sessions.
  • Maintaining records and case notes
  • Planning and providing appropriate music sessions
  • Reporting progress to families/carers, relevant agencies or professional staff.
