Public Health Nurse Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Public Health Nurse:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN).
Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in electronic health record management systems, such as Nightingale Notes and Axxess.
Extensive experience in assessing and treating patients, and coordinating interventions.
In-depth knowledge of best practices in public healthcare and advancements in the field.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to advise patients and their families.
Advanced ability to educate patients and their families on healthcare and disease prevention.
Ability to maintain supply inventories, travel extensively, and perform regular vehicle maintenance checks.
