  • The Auditorwill be working to provide audit assurance over risk management and controls implementation to ensure the company’s controls are adequate and working satisfactorily.
  • To provide assurance over the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinating Enterprise Risk management activities to ensure organizational objectives are achieved on the corporate level
  • Performing corporate governance functions assigned in the Board committees on behalf of management
  • Directing the review of departmental KRA audits on periodic basis to ensure individual departments’ objectives are being met
  • Reviewing and directing audits of Financial reports and respective component account balances
  • Overseeing fraud detection, deterrence and prevention efforts and reviews to ensure that organisational resources are not abused and misused
  • Directing audits on Financial reporting and related account balances
  • Ensuring compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
  • Developing an annual risk-based program specific to resourcing protection controls, cash flow risk protection controls and asset risk protection controls
  • Formulating and Implement the approved annual audit plan
  • Creating work requirements and responsibilities for units which will be guided by the Internal Audit Department's Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) also subject to periodic reviews

Job Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role in the financial services sector especially Microfinance.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
  • Must have a minimum 5 years working experience.
  • Must be an ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant).
  • Must be a  CFA (Certified Forensic Accountant).
  • Must be (Certified Information Systems Auditor).
  • Must be an  ISO 9001:2008 Certified Auditor.
  • Must have MFI industry experience and it will be an added advantage.
Job Competencies:
  • Must have a knowledge and experience commensurate with this role and having dealt with regulatory environment both onshore and offshore covering all service lines offerings.

  • The Risk Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of risk to the organization, its employees, clients, reputation, assets and interests of stakeholders.
  • Developing, maintaining, managing and executing a comprehensive   process   for identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on risks that may impact on organizational performance.
  • Specific risk areas include, corporate governance, information security, regulatory compliance and operational risk.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of an Enterprise Risk Management framework consisting of tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report risks. Develops and implements strategies for the use of these tools
  • Managing the risks according to an enterprise risk management framework.
  • Assisting in the development of enterprise risk management policy, regulatory compliance and business continuity programs.
  • Executing operational and compliance risk analysis and assessments across business divisions.
  • Analyzing and classify risks (frequency / potential severity) and measure financial impact of risk on the company.
  • Assisting in Capital Adequacy assessment for Risk Rating purposes and other risk based analysis.
  • Facilitating ERM training across all levels in the company.
  • Providing overall direction and leadership.
  • Assisting the Board Audit Committee in the formulation of policies and development of better controls.
  • Providing coaching for direct reports – all members of the unit.
  • Performing all other duties related to risk management as may be assigned.

  • Ensuring a continual drive for enhanced efficiency and client service (internal and external) in all Risk and Compliance processes.
  • Developing, leading and motivating the Risk and Compliance team to maximize effectiveness.
  • Providing regular reports to boards and other relevant bodies detailing any current issues or information as required.
  • Carrying out corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders
  • Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization.
  • Making provision of proactive and practical regulatory advice to business managers and support functions.
  • Managing the successful delivery of compliance projects ensuring technical excellence via a practical/business driven approach.

Job Requirements
  • Must have a Minimum of 6-10 years' experience in similar role in the financial services sector especially Microfinance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline.
  • Must have a Professional certification in Accounting / Risk management
  • Must have an excellent analytical and communications skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint MS Office.
  • Must have the knowledge of Corporate Governance and Accountability
