Financial Controller at Prosperity Microfinance Bank

Prosperity Microfinance Bank Nigeria Limited (PMBank) is a Microfinance Bank incorporated in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in March 2005 under the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act CAP C20 LFN 2004 with registration number RC 620230 and commenced operations on 10th October 2005. It is licensed to carry on the business of microfinance banking by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Nigerian GAAP, IFRS, and relevant CBN circulars.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulatory requirements including returns to CBN, NDIC, FIRS, PENCOM, and other relevant bodies.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in alignment with the bank's strategic goals.
• Supervise all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and cash flow management.
• Manage the finance team to ensure capacity building, compliance, and timely delivery of responsibilities.
• Support fundraising, investor relations, and capital adequacy planning.
• Track key financial KPIs including liquidity ratios, capital adequacy ratio (CAR), and loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR), ensuring they remain within regulatory thresholds.
• Participate actively in strategic planning and management meetings.
• Performing Bank reconciliation especially on Operations account.
• Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities, and coordinate all audit processes.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and risk assessments to support decision-making by management and the board.
• Oversee payroll management, tax remittances, and pension contributions.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an OND / HND / B.Sc Degree with 5 - 10 years experience.

Salary
N270,000 - N300,000 per month
