When Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) sought protection in Ta'if in 620 C.E., he was stoned and chased out of the city by the people of Ta'if. This event is known as the 'Year of Sorrow' in Islamic history.

Monotheism, the belief in one God, is not a form of shirk according to the Quran. Shirk, in Islam, is the sin of practicing idolatry or polytheism, i.e., the deification or worship of anyone or anything other than the singular God. Therefore, Trinity (belief in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one God), Polytheism (belief in many gods), and Atheism (disbelief in the existence of God or gods) can be considered forms of shirk.

Quran 24:32 is an injunction which enjoins Muslims to marry righteous partners. The verse says: 'And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.' It neither discourages a Muslim from polygamy, commands Muslims to marry more than one wife, nor allows a Muslim to divorce only when necessary.
