Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in the oil and gas industry.
• The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the financial operations of the company.
• The ideal candidate should have experience in the oil and gas industry and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Ensuring all respective support documents such as receipts are attached to payment vouchers
• Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations;
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Assist in external and internal audits, providing necessary financial information and supporting documents.
• Assist in tax-related matters, including tax filings, withholding tax calculations, and compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise professionalism in all financial dealings.
• Compilation, analysis and preparation of data for financial statements, expenditures, revenues, accounts and reports;
• Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and process journal entries and maintain proper documentation for all accounting transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum working experience of five (5) years.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
• Solid understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements in the oil and gas industry
• Possession of ACCA or ACA, CFA is an added advantage.
• Proven experience as an Accountant in the oil and gas industry or a related sector.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, including variance analysis and budgeting.
