Job Summary

  • We are looking to hire an experienced Account Clerk that would oversee the financial bookkeeping and financial records of the project and record transactions, payments, expenses, and invoices.

Job Purpose

  • The Account Clerk will be responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions, documents, banking, and payments in relation to the project’s expenses.

Job Description

  • Oversee the financial bookkeeping and records of the project and record transactions, payments, expenses, and invoices.
  • Compile assets record and reconcile budget and expenses within the project.
  • File, record and update all payment vouchers and receipts in hard and soft copy databases.
  • Prepare financial reports for the project manager when requested; otherwise, monthly.
  • Conduct an In-depth analysis of financial information relating to the project and relay vital information to the relevant authority.
  • Work closely with the auditor to compile all necessary financial documents regarding the project for auditing.
  • Support the Financial Controller’s routine, managing project schedules and general accounting procedures.
  • Present the quarterly accounting details and address all disparities that may arise in the account reconciliation, quarterly.
  • Assist with clerical and administrative tasks:
  • Daily recording of all financial transactions/expenses on an accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Precision in financial recording.
  • Promptness in data entry.
  • Time taken to process invoices.
  • Precision in reconciling bank statements with financial records.
  • Effectiveness in credit control.
  • Time taken to prepare financial reports.
  • Adherence to accounting standards.

Competencies Required

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field.
  • Additional years of relevant experience may be considered instead of certification.
  • Requires at least two (2) years of financial experience.
  • Basic IT knowledge and experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and pay attention to detail.
  • High level of commitment, honesty and enthusiasm.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, control procedures, etc..
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Agribusiness is a plus.
