JOB VACANCY: AGRICULTURAL SPECIALIST
LOCATION: Nigeria
DURATION: Long-Term
Position pending funding. This position is for Nigerian nationals.

CARANA is recruiting for an experienced Agricultural Specialist for an upcoming USAID-funded project focused on promoting market-oriented agricultural growth in Nigeria. The anticipated project will implement strategic interventions to benefit particular agricultural value chains, including staple crops, that will improve farmer access to inputs and new agricultural technology; strengthen and expand agribusiness networks and access to rural credit; strengthen local, regional and international market linkages; and foster successful partnerships between farmers and the private sector.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s Degree A Master’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural economics, or related field is required

Excellent communications and writing ability and superior interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
A minimum of ten years of professional work experience in agribusiness development with an emphasis on cross border trade, cooperative development, and rural finance.
Prior successful experience providing overall technical direction related to increasing agricultural production and productivity;
A minimum of five years experience managing agribusiness enterprises;
