- As an ESG Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Babban Gona’s environmental and social systems.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Support environmental and social compliance across all operations, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations, standards, and internal requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of Babban Gona’s ESG policies, procedures, and performance frameworks.
- Coordinate with partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives and compliance activities.
- Monitor, document, and report on ESG performance, providing timely insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Identify potential environmental and social risks and support mitigation efforts at both field and operational levels.
- Build internal capacity by sensitizing and training teams on sustainability practices, compliance expectations, and ESG responsibilities.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agriculture, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in ESG, sustainability, or environmental and social risk management, ideally within agricultural, social enterprise, or development-focused organizations.
- You’re not just a sustainability professional, you’re a guardian of responsible growth and a driver of measurable impact.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and social risk assessment, mitigation, and reporting standards.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders, including regulators, donors, and community partners, to advance sustainability objectives.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate ESG data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to influence teams and senior management.

- Proven expertise in developing and implementing ESG policies, systems, and compliance frameworks.
