Job Title: Business Development Executive

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Responsible for driving business growth through acquiring new clients in the Insurance Sector, developing lasting relationships, and promoting insurance products and services.
  • This role ensures the achievement of revenue targets and contributes to expanding the organization’s visibility and market share within the insurance sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and secure new insurance business opportunities across target market segments.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with prospective and existing clients in insurance.
  • Assess clients’ insurance needs, recommend appropriate products, and prepare customized proposals.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate client and sales activity records within the CRM system.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
  • Provide regular business performance updates and sales pipeline reports to management.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned revenue and customer acquisition targets.
  • Monitor market and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in presentations, negotiations, and contract finalization processes.

Key Area - Indicator Example:

  • New Business Acquisition:  Number and value of new clients secured
  • Revenue Generation: Achievement of sales or premium targets
  • Client Retention: Satisfaction scores and renewal rates
  • Compliance: Adherence to regulatory and audit standards
  • Reporting: Timeliness and accuracy of submitted reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Marketing, Insurance, or a related discipline.
  • Deep understanding of insurance products and the Nigerian insurance market environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in insurance business development, sales, or marketing.
  • Proven record of achieving measurable business growth targets.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office hours (Monday–Friday); extended hours may apply.
  • Occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, or training programs.
  • Requires consistent use of technology, insurance platforms, and CRM software

Salary
N500,000 - N700,000 / Month.
