The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) is one of the eleven electricity distribution companies that emerged after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).The company is saddled with the primary responsibility of distributing and marketing electricity to end users within the five states in the South-East geo-political zone; namely: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, with a total of 18 Business Districts offices across these states.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Phyton Odoo Developer

Location: Enugu

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining, upgrading and developing the company's Odoo ERP, CRM system.
  • Review, Analyze, Modify, Create source code for Odoo.
  • Debug existing product bugs.
  • Develop, test and support new custom modules
  • Collect and analyze business requirements.
  • Transform business requirements into software design.
  • Design and develop Odoo apps (new module development, customization)
  • Maintain CRM, ERP systems on ODOO

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in developing and maintaining PHP & Python code
  • Minimum 2 years experience with relation databases (PostgreSQL(Preferred) + MySQL) and Odoo development.
  • ERP experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of Javascript, HTML / CSS / JS
  • Unix / Linux Platform knowledge
  • Knowledge of Devops, GIT and JIRA
  • Knowledge of business and accounting workflows
  • Creative mindset and must be conversant with Odoo framework

Job Title: Information Security Officer

Location: Enugu

Responsibilities

  • Creates information security strategies, both short-term and long-term, in support of the Organization’s goals.
  • Directs an ongoing, proactive risk assessment program for all new and existing systems and remains familiar with the Organization’s goals and business processes so effective controls can be put in place for those areas presenting the greatest information security risk.
  • Coordinates the activities of Information Security so that security decisions do not interrupt business processes while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Organization’s information.
  • Ensures vulnerabilities are managed by directing periodic vulnerability scans of servers and all endpoints connected to EEDC’s networks.
  • Develops information security awareness training and education programs for staff and vendors
  • Acts proactively to prevent potential disaster situations by ensuring that proper protections are in place, such as intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, and effective physical safeguards, and ensuring a business continuity/disaster recovery plan is in place to offset the effects caused by intentional and unintentional acts.
  • Evaluates security incidents and determines what response, if any, is needed and coordinates responses, including technical incident response teams, when sensitive information is breached.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, attending training, conferences, and/or courses as directed by the supervisor, and obtaining certifications relevant to job duties.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the Organization by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Escalates information security incidents to the Head IT where necessary and provides guidance and direction for mitigations.
  • Reviews information security policies at least annually or when significant changes occur in the information security implementation.
  • Ensure that EEDC implements a sound methodology for managing information security consistent with the ISO 27001 standards
  • Assess the effectiveness of EEDC’s information security programme
  • Ensure EEDC adequately budgets for information security.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with relevant certifications
  • 3-5 years of work experience in progressive IT Security
  • Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Good knowledge of regulatory compliance, including PCI DSS, NIST etc.
  • A good understanding of security concepts such as DNS, authentication, VPN, proxy services and DDOS mitigation technologies is necessary. Experience with TCP/IP, routing and switching is also required
  • Experience with frameworks like ISO 27001/27002, ITIL and COBIT
  • Must be proficient to work with Windows and Unix like operating systems
  • Familiar with Security of cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience with risk management, network security of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, firewall management.

Job Title: AMI / AMR Specialist

Location: Enugu

Responsibilities

  • Developing technical solutions and / or performing configuration changes to meet ongoing requirements, then preparing specifications for approved changes associated with the AMI HES, AMI network, Meter Data Management System (MDMS) web services, and other applicable environments within Smart Metering.
  • Leading technical enhancements and implementations in the AMI HES and AMI network in Smart Metering to meet requirements (e.g., system performance, availability, recoverability, compliance).
  • Providing technical assistance with managing operations of many aspects of the AMI network system operations and compliance from architectural planning to daily operations and support.
  • Coordinate technical system upgrades and technical issue resolution with vendors, end users, and the process owners
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation; observing change management principles; performing system performance trend analysis; managing and integrating different technical components, training and compliance materials.
  • Support upgrades and system maintenance, and troubleshoot (e.g., meters, reading files and network issues) the AMI HES and network operations as needed.
  • Ensures system performance of AMI meter readings, meter alarms and meter controls as well as data completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the needs of customer billing, energy efficiency, grid operations, and grid planning.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3 years directly related and progressive electric engineering, AMI Technologies, Operational Technologies or IT experience.
  • Broad knowledge of network management systems including reporting (i.e., utilization, capacity, availability) and tools.
  • Network functionality and tools including SSH, traceroute, ping, understanding of DHCP, VPN technologies, firewall concepts and architecture.
  • Networking and topology / understanding of high-level network and security concepts, radio networks and firmware updates.
  • AMI Head-end Systems and/or related metering systems
  • Technical hardware architecture
  • Linux / Unix Operating System
  • Relational DBMS (i.e., Oracle / SQL Server/MySQL)
  • Windows Server OS and creating .NET web services running on Microsoft’s IIS Bash/perl/python scripting and / or java on Linux
  • Demonstrated track record of learning new technologies and systems, building cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders, and solving complex technical issues required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other business analytical tools required
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of data during extraction, storage, manipulation, and processing required
  • Knowledge of electric utility operations preferred
  • Previous work experience in IT, operational telecom, network or systems engineering, or metering operations preferred.

Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Enugu

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Development Team to analyze User needs and develop Software solutions for efficiency of operations and to increase revenue generation
  • Implement new Systems for efficiency and excellent service delivery
  • Test products in controlled, real situation before going live to avoid runtime errors
  • Research and examine current systems, consulting Users for system enhancement
  • Test and modify systems to ensure they operate reliably, effectively and efficiently
  • Conduct fault finding and fixing of software bug for operational efficiency
  • Assist Network Administrator with application installation and testing
  • Assist in troubleshooting software application issues to detect and fix errors for accuracy and consistencies
  • Investigate and resolve Application functionality related issues, providing first level support and troubleshooting for all applications for efficiency and accountability.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree / HND in Computer Science or any related field
  • 3 - 5 years experience in building enterprise scale applications; Adept in the use of SQL, JavaScript, Google API, Angular, web services, REST based API design & development; Database design and usage (MongoDB, MS SQL).
  • Knowledge of UI design, Wildfly and GitHub.
  • Development and implementation experience of mobility solutions using Android  or iOS; Knowledge of Linux OS.
