Job Title: Chartered Accountant

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly experienced Chartered Accountant to set up a full accounting and financial management system for our operations.
• This contract-based, high-impact role is ideal for someone who has previously built accounting structures for SMEs or material-heavy companies and is comfortable working independently with senior management.
• We are a growing glass and aluminium fabrication company, and this will be our first formal accounting hire. Your task is to create working systems, set up tools and controls, and train a junior accountant for a proper handover within 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up daily, weekly, and monthly financial processes tailored to the company’s operations
• Implement systems for client invoicing and accurate revenue tracking.
• Track job-specific costs (glass, aluminium, transport, accessories) to monitor profit margins
• Establish strong internal controls to prevent financial leakage or duplication
• Design and document SOPs, reporting templates, and accounting manuals
• Train and supervise a junior accountant for handover and continuity
• Generate periodic financial reports and dashboards for management insight
• Set up workflows for vendor payments, procurement cost recording, and reconciliation.
• Establish payroll processes and ensure all statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT) are handled correctly.
• Deploy and configure accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.)
• Perform other accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Fully Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN) – Required
• 4–7 years experience, ideally with SMEs or companies in construction/materials
• Proficient in relevant accounting tools/software
• Self-driven, highly organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be available for a hybrid schedule, with physical presence in Dei-Dei, Abuja at intervals.
• Experience setting up accounting structures (especially in SMEs or building materials/construction)
• Strong documentation, systems-building, and training ability

Salary
Negotiable, based on experience and scope of engagement.
