The License enables EMTS provide Fixed Telephony (wired or wireless), Digital Mobile Services, International Gateway Services and National/Regional Long Distance Services in addition to spectrum assignments in the 900 and 1800 MHz bands.

Job Title: Senior Engineer, Packet Switch Core

Job Summary

  • Participate in the design, planning and optimisation of packet switching components of EMTS's core network, systems and platforms. 

Principal Functions 

  • Assist in the provisioning of packet switching network capacity for all the GSM/UMTS
  • Understanding of Network Virtualization Architecture as related to and PS core nodes and management of multi-vendor environment.
  • Carry out traffic forecasting with existing data to arrive at expected traffic requirement using excel functionality.
  • To lead in Volte and 5G implementation
  • Assist in the deployment and implementation of packet switching network elements to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Assist in defining the requirements for capacity planning and management of services on the Prepaid and Intelligent Network.
  • Perform technical investigations into areas related to packet switching network design and performance, such as new types of hardware, new design methodologies, impact of new technologies (UMTS, LTE, IoT, NFV, IPv6 etc.)
  • Provide useful inputs in defining the locations for packet switches and other network elements
  • Proficient in PowerPoint presentation
  • Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions.

Job Title: Senior Engineer, BSS

Job Summary

  • Monitor and manage BSS site construction activities from start up to commissioning/acceptance in assigned region. End to End Delivery.

Principal Functions

  • Organise and plan site implementation activities with TI and site build vendors.
  • Supervise the end-to-end deployment process of target BSS sites and ensure strict adherence to 9Mobile processes and procedures
  • Carry out technical site survey of new and existing BSS sites in line with 9Mobile deployment processes
  • Conducting other test [CHP, THP, integrity tests] as may be required for a good quality greenfield and colocation site.

Job Title: Manager, CS & PS Core Planning

Job Summary

  • Assist in the design, planning and optimisation of circuit switching components of EMTS's core network, systems and platforms.

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Provide input in translating EMTS business plan and subscriber growth assumptions into requirements for the core network circuit switching system.
  • Review the unit/team's activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved improvement initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.

Operational:

  • Direct the timely provisioning of the circuit & packet switching network capacity for all the GSM, EDGE, UMTS & LTE elements, features, protocols, interfaces etc.
  • Provide useful inputs in defining the locations for circuit & packet switch infrastructure and other related network elements
  • Design, plan, and dimension circuit & packet switching network elements to ensure optimal use and deployment of resources
  • Lead Core network transformation from legacy infrastructure to cloud based infrastructure.

Job Title: Senior Engineer, Data Centre M & E

Job Summary

  • Manage and oversee the Data Centre power and cooling infrastructure, space/power allocation and equipment (DGs, UPS, HVAC, rectifiers and power controls).

Principal Functions

  • Supervise and maintain power and cooling equipment at Data Centre, IT rooms and all other equipment: (AC/DC system, Fire suppression system, HVAC and other passive infrastructure)
  • Implement all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Monitor all power and cooling consumption and capacity utilization
  • Coordinate new installations in the Data Centre according to power budget and design specification.
  • Ensure Data Centre power and floor space is optimised and manage BMS at the Data Centre

  • Conduct and supervise and record, hourly and daily routine/physical inspection of all network element/nodes to ascertain their functionality at the DC/MGW
  • Conduct end to end AC & DC power backup fall back test for network resilience
  • Identify SPOF and communicate to your line manager for immediate attention and resolution
  • Carry out routine audit and facilitate risk assessment of DC, MGW and BSC sites.

Principal Functions

  • Liaise with Government regulatory department. to resolve environmental, regulatory, states, local government, landlord and community issues within 48 hours and follow up for permanent solution.
  • Follow up for timely replacement of faulty components on BSS, TX and Power equipment, weekly link alignment for MW links with deviated RSL as well as replacement of faulty fibre patch cord and splicing on national fibre BB to avoid prolong outage and reduce MTTR
  • Supervise timely Capex replacement (DG,ATS, A/C, Battery replacement and power optimization for Green Field as well as BSC/MGW sites). Also confirm and sign off JCC for the successfully completed tasks by both parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Field Operations.

Job Title: Manager, Legal Services (Contracts and Advisory)

  • Serves as a point of legal advice on local and international commercial contracts.

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Advise EMTS on legal matters relating to corporate and project finance contracts and assist departments in the closure of financial transactions to the best interest of EMTS.
  • Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the unit's activities.
  • Continuously assist in reviewing the unit/team's activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.
  • Assist in identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit/ function's strategy.

Operational:

  • Liaise with individual departments & divisions and provide advice on legal issues arising from contracts.

  • Research and proffer opinion on any legal inquiries or issues of a contractual nature arising out of the interpretation and application of contracts and agreements.

  • Coordinate with tender committees and concerned departments/divisions in drafting and finalizing tender documentation. Provide legal assistance to tender committees in tender amendment, tender process management, contract negotiation and finalization.
  • Provide assistance in litigation by or against contractors or other parties arising out of contracts, agreements, or similar documentation.
  • Ensure the set up and maintenance of a database of all contractual documents and related legal documentation.
  • Ensure safe custody of all tenders and contracts.
  • Assist in implementing the unit's work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity.
  • Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates' performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives.
