Job Title: NETWORK ENGINEER
Dangote Industries Limited (DANCOM Technologies) – Nigeria

JOB DESCRIPTION
Configuring, testing, and maintaining all active devices on LAN and WAN.
Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network problems.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
Maintaining and supporting all active devices on LAN and WAN environment.
Successful and timely completion of the IP Network Project Rollout.
Provide daily, weekly and monthly report regarding availability and performance of the network.
Provide reports in respect of project roll-out and network maintenance.
Interface with Vendors on project and network maintenance.
Daily maintenance and problem resolution and software upgrades, and routine of active devices configuration.
Management of the network
Monitoring and control of the network.
Participate in 24×7 rotations.
Reports directly to the IP Network manager and working very closely with VSAT Engineering team

POSITION OBJECTIVES
Assist/support in the design and implementation of IP network.
Planning and implementing of IP telephony
Responsible for implementation standards and methodologies
Approval of work done by vendors in ensuring network availability (Installation, maintenance, configuration changes, etc.)

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a service provider / Telecommunication Engineering, specifically in IP Network Planning and Deployment.
Hands-on experience on configuring, integrating, implementing and administrating the following network active devices:
Cisco Firewalls
Cisco switches
Cisco Core switches
Cisco routers
Cisco core routers
Cisco VPN
Wireless Access Points.
Natural leadership skills.
Exceptional tactical and strategic analysis skills
Current CCNA or CCNP strongly preferred
Willingness to think outside the box while maintaining a working corporate strategy.
“Can do” attitude
Setting and maintaining policies and rights/security on Cisco Firewall
IP address planning and sub netting
Planning and implementing of VLAN
Trouble shooting and operations
Highly organized with the capability to bring original thought to problems
Exceptional communications skills both written and spoken
