Job Title: Senior Principal DevOps Engineer

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to lead and manage our cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-scale platform operations.
• This role is for an engineering leader who has designed, implemented, and managed highly available, secure, and automated infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will work closely with engineering teams delivering microservices, monoliths, and distributed systems across FinTech, HealthTech, Blockchain, and Logistics, while ensuring operational excellence, security, and performance.
• The ideal candidate is hands-on, capable of mentoring teams, implementing modern DevOps best practices, and comfortable handling live production systems. A security background check, rigorous technical assessment, and demonstrable GitHub work are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture:

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Architect multi-region, highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Bicep.
• Optimize cloud architecture for cost, performance, and security.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement cloud security best practices: IAM, RBAC, encryption, key management, and network security.
• Follow and enforce compliance standards such as OWASP, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001.
• Conduct security audits, vulnerability scanning, and disaster recovery planning.

Mentoring & Collaboration:

• Mentor engineers and DevOps teams, providing guidance on cloud, CI/CD, automation, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and operations teams on live production projects.
• Lead technical workshops, training sessions, and internal knowledge sharing.

CI/CD & Automation:

• Build and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, testing, and rollback procedures.
• Implement containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GKE).
• Automate repetitive tasks, infrastructure monitoring, and operational workflows.

Monitoring, Logging & Observability:

• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, or Cloud-native solutions.
• Ensure observability for microservices, monoliths, and serverless platforms.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reporting for production systems and SLAs.

Required Experience

• 10+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP at enterprise scale.
• Expertise in IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Bicep.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and enterprise-grade operations.
• Experience mentoring teams and leading engineering practices.
• Must pass security background checks.
• Must pass a rigorous technical assessment.
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and incident response.

Salary
N1,000,000 - N1,300,000 monthly.
