Job Title: IT Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Role / Objectives

  • A reputable construction company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT officer to join its team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organisation’s computer systems and networks, installing and configuring computer hardware and software, diagnosing technical issues and providing effective support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system.
  • Create tickets and work orders and ensure to manage incident resolution process
  • Manage user accounts including setup of new users, email configurations, and access permissions.
  • Support routine maintenance of servers, routers, switches, and network devices.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure maximum uptime, performance, and security.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets including hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
  • Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide user support by resolving network, connectivity, desktop, and application issues via phone, email and in person.
  • Maintain the Helpdesk system by crating, tracking, and resolving tickets.
  • Install, configure and maintain peripherals such as printers, scanners, and external drives.
  • Periodically update content on the company website in collaboration with the Design and Brand team.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Strong communication. Problem solving and documentation skills.
  • Detail oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Minimum of 3 years'relevant experience providing technical support in a Windows and Exchange network environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and operating system issues.
  • Experience in resolving problems related to malware, printing, and email, systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnosing Internet connectivity issues across ISP, switch, server and desktop levels.
