Job Title: Training Officer

Location: Lagos
Job type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The L&D Officer plays a key role in delivering learning initiatives across the organization, ensuring compliance with training requirements, and providing effective logistical and administrative support for training programmers.

Key Duties and Responsibilites

  • Prepare and dispatch training invitations to participants of approved programmers.
  • Obtain statutory approvals from Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for approved programmers.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing of all training documents and activities.
  • Prepare cost implications for training activities involving travel.
  • Process vendor payments for training-related services.
  • Upload and process all scheduled training programmers on SharePoint for management approval.
  • Record staff training data in the training monitor template.
  • Process annual ITF reimbursement filing with the ITF consultant.
  • Support the implementation of the company’s e-learning strategy.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly training activity reports to the L&D Manager.
  • Provide logistical support for effective delivery of approved training programmers.
  • Maintain proper attendance and conduct end-of-training assessments for all programmes.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the L&D Manager or senior management.

Requirements
Formal Education:

  • Degree in Management, Social Sciences, Education, IT, Psychology, Statistics, Business Management, or related fields.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training (e.g. in Health & Safety, IT, Technical, and Management Development).

Skills and Behaviours:

  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Integrity, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective personal and time management.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Relevant competency certification(s) in Training, HR, or related field (e.g., CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, Learning & Development certifications).
