Airtel Nigeria (Airtel Networks Limited) is a leading telecommunications services provider in Nigeria headquartered in Lagos, the commercial nerve-centre of Nigeria. The telco ranks amongst the top four mobile service providers in terms of subscribers with a customer base of more than 39.8 million. The company's product offerings include 2G, 3G and 4G wireless services, mobile commerce and enterprise services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Data Assurance Analyst

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full time

Job Purpose

  • To create and manage roles aimed at providing assurance on integrity, accuracy and completeness of Data (GPRS) revenue stream.
  • To identify risk inherent in these transactions and ensure risks are mitigated, thereby minimizing loss and maximize revenue from the data stream.

Key Responsibilities
To Ensure all Data Traffic/CDRs are Captured and Billed Appropriately:

  • Ensure accurate charging of data transactions, highlight and escalating incidents of wrong charging.
  • Close monitoring of rating groups and detect cases of high data usage from free rating groups.
  • APN reconciliation. Detect APNs not configured on the billing system.
  • Ensure charging of data transaction occurs in set priority from allocated buckets.
  • Close monitoring of new data product to ensure billing and charge configuration aligns with standards.

Accuracy and Completeness of Subscriber Accounts:

  • Manage all controls around subscribers Main and Dedicated accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy and identify high risk areas.
  • Close monitoring of data usage (trend and revenue) from allocated dedicated account (Bonus and paid Usage).

To block possible revenue leakage points:

  • Perform varying degrees of revenue assurance, UAT tests, and on all Data related products and services to eliminate potential revenue losses.
  • Detect errors in the billing system for subscriptions.
  • Monitoring adjustment on the system.
  • Review data subscriptions, voice and SMS bundles to ensure that they are being charged and at the approved rate.

Data Revenue completeness:

  • Ensure completeness of revenue reporting on all data (GPRS) network nodes by reconciling traffic from service node against Billing node
  • To set up necessary controls and KPI’s to achieve Data Assurance Revenue Savings.
  • Manage all controls around subscribers Main and Dedicated accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy and identify high risk areas.
  • Close monitoring of data usage (trend and revenue) from allocated dedicated account (Bonus and paid Usage).

Validations:

  • Prevent unauthorized use of Blackberry service.
  • Detect incorrect tariff configured for data services.
  • Validation of all queries from Customers as it pertains to Data.
  • Reconciliation of Billed transactions against value received for Data, voice and SMS products.
  • Detect profile (BES, BIS) mismatches between Billing systems and RIM server.
  • Carry out validations of customer base for data, Voice and SMS bundles according to set rules.

Educational Qualification, Experience & Competencies
Education and Certification:
Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science; MBA will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:
Must have:

  • 6+ years’ experience in Telecommunications industry (Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management Functions).

Skills critical to the role:

  • Ability to use ACL (Audit Command Language)
  • Oracle 10g (SQL (DB2) for data extraction, data analysis and interpretation)
  • Project management and strong analytical skills
  • Good use of Microsoft office (Excel, Power point, Visio, Word & Access).
