Job Title: Facilities Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

About the Job

  • We are looking for a Facilities Officer to join our team and ensure that our facilities run smoothly.
  • As a Facilities Officer, you will be in charge of maintaining and overseeing our facilities' daily operations.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that our buildings, equipment, and grounds are in good condition and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify any maintenance or repair needs
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Provide energy management solutions; come up with energy saving guidelines that will reduce expense costs, for example, diesel consumption, pressure on generators and where possible introduce alternate energy sources
  • Ensure service providers deliver value that commensurate with what they are being paid
  • Keep financial and non-financial records
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure the ongoing upkeep of facilities
  • Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, repair, and cleaning services
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and address any issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety, building codes, and environmental regulations
  • Provide regular reports on the status of facilities and any maintenance or repair needs
  • Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings’ structures and company infrastructure to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
  • Perform analysis and forecasting of the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / BA Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field with relevant work experience.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good analytical/critical thinking.
  • Proven experience as facilities officer or relevant position
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
