Job Title: Head, Talent Management

Job Purpose
- The Head of Talent Management is responsible for steering the development and deployment of Ikeja Electric’s talent strategies, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- This role is pivotal in driving workforce capability development, fostering a customer-centric employee experience, and supporting the transformational culture and leadership initiatives as outlined in the HR transformation agenda.
- As the leader of the Talent Management Unit, this role oversees all aspects of talent identification, acquisition, learning and development, leadership capability, and career development to ensure a high-performance and strategically aligned workforce.
Role Accountabilities
- Talent Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive talent strategy aligned with the business objectives of Ikeja Electric.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure a sustainable talent pipeline for critical and strategic roles.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and HR Business Partners to forecast talent needs and develop long-term talent plans.
- Leadership Development and Workforce Capability:
- Oversee leadership and capability development programs to build inspirational and developmental leaders.
- Drive the implementation of continuous learning initiatives, ensuring employees have access to programs that support business-critical skills.
- Ensure alignment with the company’s goal of developing workforce capability to support Ikeja Electric’s business objectives.
- Talent Acquisition and Identification:
- Lead talent identification and acquisition strategies to attract high-potential candidates.
- Ensure the Talent Acquisition team builds an efficient and high-quality recruitment process, aligned with the EVP.
- Drive the creation of a diverse and inclusive recruitment strategy that supports Ikeja Electric’s culture transformation objectives.
- Career Development and Succession Planning:
- Oversee the design and implementation of a career development framework to enhance internal mobility and talent retention.
- Establish and maintain succession planning processes for critical roles, identifying high-potential talent within the organization.
- Ensure talent development is customer-centric and supports the six pillars of the employee value proposition (EVP).
- Performance Metrics and Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Define and implement performance metrics for the Talent Management Unit that support data-driven HR practices.
- Partner with the HR Data and Intelligence Specialist to ensure talent management metrics feed into the broader HR analytics dashboard.
- Leverage data insights to refine talent management strategies and continuously enhance performance outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years HR experience with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role within Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organizational/Career Development, or HR Strategy.
- Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business Administration (MBA), or related field is required.
- Professional certifications such as CIPM, SHRM-CP/SCP, CIPD, HRCI or equivalent is mandatory.
