Job Title: Heavy Motor Vehicles Mechanic

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Heavy Motor Vehicles Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, including trucks, buses, and other large vehicles.
  • The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections on heavy motor vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely repairs.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor time.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services on a regular basis.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical school program in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Motor Vehicles Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other heavy vehicle components.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for working in a demanding, hands-on environment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Heavy Duty Truck Repair.
  • Previous experience with [specific brands or types of heavy vehicles in your fleet].
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.

Salary
N150,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
