We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HVAC Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and support related to HVAC equipment ranging from Window air conditioning units to split, package units, and central chiller units, including specialist equipment in Server rooms.
• Evaluates, selects, and adapts management and control techniques, procedures, and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.
• Develop related standard operating procedures for the operation and maintenance of facility equipment.
• Ensuring technically competent engineering staff by selecting, training, and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance team
• Ensuring effective operation of all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program
• Maintain current on the job-specific expertise by keeping abreast of the latest technological developments and products to improve system and equipment reliability.
• Follow up on requisition of accessories / spare parts in time to prevent breakdown in maintenance due to shortage of spare parts
• Develop and implement safety management plans and programs for the facility's equipment
• Manage contractor teams, including HSE supervision, performance management, and development of local contractor skill base while ensuring compliance with standards
• Attending site and management meetings with clients

Requirements
Qualification:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical, or Electronic Engineering is required.
• Relevant professional qualification and membership of professional bodies such as NSE, COREN, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ATEX certification, or any other qualifications or memberships cognate to HVAC engineering is an added advantage.

Experience:

• 10 - 12 years post-graduation experience in HVAC maintenance engineering with a clear track record in commissioning and maintenance of Central and domestic HVAC systems in a Petrochemical or similar plants from which 5 years’ experience in operation and maintenance in any Oil and Gas industry, with proven experience in design and fault finding on HVAC Equipment (Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, Package units, VRF, DX Units, Extractor fans, Cold room Equipment, Crac Precision cooling etc), while assuring quality of maintenance work within the non-plant areas.
• A good working knowledge of industry best practices for Health, Safety, and Environmental management and permit to work systems.
• A good working knowledge of maintenance documentation systems.
• A good response to emergency calls during off-duty hours when critical systems have stopped functioning, or there is an imminent threat to the life safety of personnel.
• Extensive experience in equipment maintenance practices and procedures used in modern Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning maintenance works.
