Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Senior / Junior Level) - M / F

Job Description

  • Performs on-site maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility
  • Respects all COMPANY’s HSE regulations (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility
  • Executes all maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner and in strict compliance with company operating procedures and any relevant statutory legislation in order to maintain all such equipment in sound and safe operating condition
  • Ensures all worksites are clean and tidy on completion of works
  • Ensures all problems are immediately highlighted to his Supervisor and COMPANY
  • Participates fully in Pre-work assessments and risk assessments and abides by the recommendations
  • Ensures all anomalies, near misses and accidents are reported to Company.

Requirements
 The holder of this post must have the following qualifications:

  • Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent including City & Guilds (C&G) Finals with a minimum of Upper Credit in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Participation in a recognized Trade Apprenticeship or verified technician training scheme is an added advantage.
  • One (1) to ten (10) years’ experience in offshore or land based oil and gas production operations and maintenance
  • Offshore Documents - HUET/BOSIET.

Technical Knowledge
The ideal candidate must have knowledge and hands-on experience with the following mechanical machines, equipment and systems:

  • Pumps – Repairs, overhauling and installation
  • Compressors – Repairs, overhauling and installation
  • Valves – Repairs and installation
  • Cranes – Repairs and overhauling
  • Fresh Water Maker – Repairs and maintenance
  • Diesel Engines – Maintenance, repairs and overhauling
  • Alignment – Use of dial indicator and Laser Equipment alignment kits
  • Lubrication and greasing
  • Measuring tools – Proper use and application of various measuring tools
  • Pipework and flanged connections – breaking, spading and installation
  • Electrical drive motors – Installation and lubrication.

Candidate Criteria
Study specialisation:

  • F-Engineering, manufacturing, construction

Minimum level of experience required:

  • 1 year or more

Languages:

  • English (C-Professional working proficiency).

Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Trainer - M / F

Job Description

  • SPIE Oil & Gas Nigeria is currently looking for a Electrical & Instrumentation Trainer to join its work force in Nigeria.

Based in Port Harcourt, the main purpose of the job is:

  • Deliver theoretical and OJT programmes for electrical & instruments technicians, supervisors, specialists and graduate engineers to enable a common high level of competence.
  • Responsible for the implementation and compliance of the E&I Engineering and Maintenance Team Competence assurance system across the Spie business in all assets.
  • Support line managers in identifying needs and ensuring these needs are met in a consistent and cost effective manner.

Principal responsibilities shall include:

  • Deliver theoretical and OJT programmes for electrical & instruments technicians, supervisors, specialists and graduate engineers.
  • Develop and prepare all course teaching materials and visual aids liaising as required with the Recruitment Team. This will also include any course reference materials and/or student workbooks.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy of all individual training records and to provide accurate reports as and when required.
  • Provide the client with detailed student progress reports containing the
  • assessment, level of competence, attendance and behaviors of the trainees.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors and any additional specialist instrumentation suppliers to ensure that teaching materials support the knowledge required for a trainee to develop satisfactory workplace competence.
  • Conduct instrument and control overview training program for production personnel and others requiring a basic presentation on the plants operational control features.
  • Design appropriate courses for the trainees and to schedule their release to the operational plant to enable them to quickly develop and utilize their new skills on the job.
  • Conduct refresher training courses and additional remedial program if requested

Profile

  • You have extensive experience working in the Oil & Gas Services industry as an Electrical & Instrumentation Trainer.
  • Good knowledge & usage of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
