Job Title: Regional Business Manager (POS/Agent) - South West

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Department: Offline Business
Job type: Full Time

Role Summary

  • Representing our agent business in the assigned region.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be Like:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with all Merchant principals and outlet assistants in their region.
  • Responsible for communicating important company updates to the merchants in their region and ensuring that the information is understood.
  • Responsible for raising issues and communicating insights internally to ensure that relevant resources are deployed to strengthen the Flutterwave business in their region.

Achievement of Commercial Targets Set For the Region:

  • Take ownership for achieving the commercial targets set for their regions. These include targets for active merchant count, transaction count, and value.
  • Merchant recruitment and on-boarding
  • Responsible for the recruitment of viable merchants within the region to support the specific use cases defined by the company.
  • Guide prospective merchants in completing the merchant registration process.
  • Responsible for helping new merchants to set up their Moneywave Lite accounts in readiness for processing customer transactions.
  • Responsible for the training of merchants on all aspects of using the Moneywave Lite platform.

Merchant Monitoring:

  • Responsible for assessing the activities and performance of merchants in their zone and making recommendations to the Flutterwave Head Office.

Required Competency and Skillset to be a Waver

  • Good understanding of business expansion
  • Very sound business acumen - financial and commercial knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and people management skills; the ability to manage teams effectively.

Job Title: POS Business Analyst

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Department: Offline Business

Role Summary

  • Effective support for the Flutterwave POS for all customers

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be Like

  • Ensure all merchants are called to check up on the effectiveness of POS solutions across all locations
  • Create a schedule for visits to the physical stores and ensure locations are visited at least once a week
  • Review the work of the hardware, papers, wires, and cables to resolve issues for merchants as required
  • Work with Relationship Managers from the Bank to ensure paper rolls are delivered as agreed and faulty POS replaced
  • Ensure all POS are properly tested and branded with Flutterwave sticker before deployment
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing of POS outside Lagos with Payment Terminal Service Providers (PTSP) and our partner banks
  • Monitor transactions of all merchants and escalate inconsistencies and discrepancies as required
  • Conduct merchant satisfaction surveys and provide input into sales team strategy for expansion
  • Liaise/follow up with the relevant units to ensure requests and complaints are treated within agreed timelines
  • Understand all products and processes to ensure effective responses to customer complaints
  • Give constant feedback to the team lead on assigned tasks and escalate as required
  • Frequently update the FAQ list as required
  • Demonstrate innovation and creativity in the execution of all duties

Job Title: POS Business Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Role Summary

  • Manage Flutterwave’s POS business both agency and merchants.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be Like

  • Champion the management strategy, applications, software, installations, and third-party partnerships of all Point of Sales (POS) devices.
  • Manage the relationships with PTSP’s, PTSA’s and banks.
  • Review the sign-up and onboarding process for all POS merchants.
  • Conduct KYC proceedings for merchants to ensure compliance is met according to industry standards.
  • Activate Pos for merchants by registering merchant’s IDs and properly integrating POS devices to merchant’s Rave account.
  • Collaborate with Logistics vendors for the deployment of POS.
  • Give regular support to merchants and render assistance on POS issues.
  • Present regular weekly transaction reports to management.

Requirements
Required Competency and Skillset to be a Waver:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in product management.
  • Strong understanding of the global and local financial services industry, and CBN regulations.
  • Good knowledge of payments and the Nigerian financial services landscape.
  • Team player with strong leadership and people management skills.

Job Title: Head, Government Relations

Location: West & Central Africa
Job type: Full Time

About the Role

  • Flutterwave is looking for a Head of Government Relations for West & Central Africa. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented, articulate, strategic thinker, who is able to operate and interact at the highest levels of Government.  
  • The function involves frequent travel within the region and sometimes to other international destinations.

As the Head of Government Relations, your primary responsibility will be to manage all Flutterwave interactions with financial sector regulators and key government officials in the designated region to ensure the following:

  • Flutterwave is well-positioned to take advantage of potential partnerships with national government agencies particularly in the areas of financial inclusion, payments digitization, including facilitating potential government programs that may benefit from the application of electronic payments.
  • The expansion of the industry in general, and Flutterwave in particular, is not hindered by intrusive political or regulatory intervention.
  • Flutterwave’s profile and reputation are optimized through the delivery of coordinated communications and education targeted at key central bank officials, regulators, government officials, and other policymakers both directly and through appropriate surrogates, and
  • Flutterwave’s outreach and messaging in the region are consistent with similar efforts in other key SSA markets.
  • This Role may be considered for a Fulltime or a Contract-Based Position

Job Scope

  • Dual reporting to Chief Regulatory and Government Relations Officer, and Business head in regions.
  • Works very closely with Country, Group-level, and Global colleagues including, Business Development, Merchant Sales and Solutions, Risk, Compliance, Client Services, Corporate Social Impact, Legal, Marketing, Strategy, and Product groups.
  • Liaises closely with functional colleagues in the region and around the world to develop and refine best practices.
  • Works with cross-divisional business teams as subject matter expert on regulatory issues and government relations

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement an effective Government Relations strategy for the area of responsibility.
  • Lead the development and building of stakeholder relationships with Government regulators, businesses, and non-governmental organizations at all levels.
  • Ensure that Government Relations plans are aligned with Flutterwave’s strategic business objectives
  • Establish and maintain effective long-term relations with Governments and other external stakeholders at the appropriate levels.
  • Monitor the regulatory and policy management environment in various regional markets in order to make timely interventions to protect Flutterwave’s commercial interests.
  • Identify opportunities and support business development programs and initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day Government Relations operations and represent Flutterwave at relevant forums in the various regional markets.
  • Ensure optimization of meeting targets and Government Relations objectives by introducing best practices.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships and enhance an understanding of the function within the company

Requirements
Desired skills and expertise:

  • General understanding of the functioning of the electronic payments industry.
  • Proven track record and minimum 5-7 years experience in all aspects of developing and implementing stakeholder relations strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local business and political environments in West Africa (WAMZ, UEMOA and CEMAC)
  • Political acumen, and the ability to balance commercial interests and social benefits.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work long hours.
  • A motivated, self- starter who is able to work independently, within a team, and without daily supervision.
  • A computer literate team player, able to work across various Flutterwave functions.
  • Fluency in French and English is an absolute requirement.
