Job Title: Management Trainee (Personal Care)

What You Can Expect
The incumbent will be responsible to provide tailor-made commercial support to assigned customers within EMC and prepare and/or contribute to customer concepts as well as identify or develop new sales opportunities. Duties will include the following:

• Participate in self, on-the job, peer to peer learning of EMC products, applications and industry
• Perform on-time technical reporting of customer and industry related activities
• Develop market intelligence through collecting and analyzing relevant market information
• Follow Project Management principles
• Follow Quality Management procedures
• Compile easy to communicate template of all customer related projects and activities with timelines and deliverables for monthly reporting on project status
• Identify the requirements of the customer and adjust systems/applications accordingly
• Communicate relevant technical issues with Technical/Account Manager
• Support projects agreed with the customer
• Conduct product testing at the customer’s production site.
• Advise the customer on the ‘safe handling’ of products (incl. advice on environmental issues)
• Report customer visits product development status and product trials
• Ensure proper handling of ‘off spec material
• Assist in managing obsolete and problem stock
• Investigate customer complaints on technical issues and takes immediate action if necessary
• Enter sample requests via ‘LIVE’
• Adhere to and compliance with all BASF guidelines and procedures
• Ensure all requirements of the function are carried out timeously and effectively within the business unit
• Demonstrate commitment towards and in accordance to the BASF Values and Principles.

What We Expect

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or any other relevant qualification
• 1-2 years’ experience in the related field
• Strong communication skills
• A valid driver’s License is essential
• Willingness and ability to travel.

The incumbent will be responsible to support business development for BASF West Africa through analysing business needs and driving strategic decisions. Duties will include the following:

• Identify and support new business opportunities and assist in the implementation of growth strategies and plans for BASF West Africa
• Collect and manage complex data sets and analyze business needs to develop business plans and metrics to make recommendations that drive strategic decisions
• Work with business intelligence tools and develop dashboards to empower the Go-to-market team with information
• Construct statistical and financial models to forecast business performance to map future trends for BU’s
• Identify cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions.

What We Expect

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or any other relevant qualification
• 1 - 2 years’ working experience in a commercially related field
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel.
