We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Head of Quality Control

Location: Ajanla, Oyo
Employment Type: Full Time
Work Mode: Onsite

Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance:

  • Develop and implement a Quality Strategy that aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO, HACCP).
  • Define and update Quality and Food Safety Policies across all units.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance dashboards for management review.
  • Serve as Management Representative for ISO, HACCP, GMP, and other external audits.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure certifications are maintained or renewed.

Quality Systems & Compliance:

  • Oversee quality management systems across poultry operations, feed mill processing, aquaculture, distribution, and retail.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Lead internal audits, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans (CAPA).
  • Oversee quality control testing, microbiological analysis, and laboratory results.
  • Ensure traceability of inputs and outputs across the production and distribution chain.

Product & Process Quality:

  • Set quality standards and product specifications for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
  • Oversee production, maintenance, and R&D to minimize product losses, defects, and contamination risks.
  • Work with suppliers to maintain high-quality raw materials.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of critical control points (CCPs).

Training & Culture Building:

  • Build a strong quality culture through training and leadership.
  • Conduct training on quality systems, ISO, GMP, HACCP, and hygiene practices.
  • Enhance staff competency through continuous learning.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with production, R&D, sales, logistics, and procurement.
  • Engage with global partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Support the management team on customer complaints and root cause analysis.

Food Safety & Biosecurity:

  • Implement Food Safety Programs across farms and processing units.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between Quality, Research, and Production teams.
  • Conduct biosecurity audits to prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Monitor environmental hygiene and manage physical and chemical hazards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., ISO 22000 Lead Auditor, HACCP, Six Sigma) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations and certification programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership in regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and team development.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Systems Management in poultry, meat processing, animal feed, or FMCG.
