Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• This work involves the maintenance of material handling equipment and motorized gates within the factory in order to support the manufacturing department to manufacture products on time and in full according to specified quality standards and at optimum cost.

Responsibilities

• Provide adequate support in material handling equipment and motorized gates to achieve Reliability and availability levels.
• Assist in the daily CIL (cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) of all the available MHEs at various locations.
• Complete relevant documents/checklists as prescribed and ensure the availability of accurate maintenance data.
• Adhere to EHS procedures and good housekeeping practices to prevent personal injuries and damaged equipment.
• Maintain regular housekeeping of the workshop area.
• Ability to pass the technical proficiency test and show a high level of hands-on skills.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on all available material handling equipment and motorized gates.
• Carry out maintenance on material handling equipment and motorized gates according to maintenance schedule or when required.
• Full support for all scheduled and unplanned repairs and maintenance of MHE.
• Give full support in ensuring all MHE job requests are attended tOTIF.
• Carry out other daily duties as it may be assigned by the Technician in charge of the workshop and the Services Team Leader.

• Tmeet production support & engineering services demand by supporting and providing material handling services all areas of the factory in line with set standards and at an optimum cost ensuring effective utilisation of available resources, creating and maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with BAT EHS standards.
• The job holder should be able trelate effectively through verbal and written communications.
• The job holder should be able to work under pressure.
• The job requires concentration, experience and commitment for good results and effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of OND in mechanical/electrical engineering or Trade Test Certificate in the same area.
• Ability to work/operate on forklift machinery.
• The job requires the jobholder to work common hours and may sometimes involve additional hours in order to complete a task.
