Evercare Hospital - Purpose built as a state of the art private hospital, Evercare Hospital Lekki is a 165 bed hospital, that offers a range of care across a range of specialty medical services. Equipped with Operating Theatres, Dialysis chairs, Emergency Department beds, a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Intensive Care Unit, as well as fully equipped birthing suites.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Radiographer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Objective

• The objective of this role is to assist in the management of and running of the radiological unit and ensure that patients are protected and in an optimal position for imaging to give a satisfactory customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate radiological equipment to capture diagnostic images of designated portions of patient body.
• Position patients correctly for various procedures as assigned.
• Explain examination procedures to patients while considering their physical and emotional needs.
• Screen patients before examination for cardiac pacemaker and other implants and devises, provide patient care and report patient needs for medical attention.
• Perform other special and conventional radiological procedures as assigned
• Coordinate with other clinical and non-clinical units to ensure total quality care is given to patients
• Keep abreast of advancements in specialty practices through continuous education and personal professional development.
• Facilitate and make clinical & non-clinical presentations at hospital clinical meetings as assigned
• Membership of hospital committee as assigned
• Abiding by the hospital rules, protocols and standard practices.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately with full documentation of patient evaluations, investigations, treatments, results, medications and transactions according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Prepare procedure room with necessary equipment and supplies required for examination and keep room clean, safe and organized
• Manage and maintain unit pre-set inventory standards for medicines, consumables, solutions, equipment and supplies
• Manage patients and attendants constructively and honestly and manage their grievances
• Provide assistance in other radiological units as needed
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor and hospital management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Medical Radiography with up to 3 years of relevant experience with exposure to special imaging techniques
• Good attitude, strong interpersonal communication skills
• Good monitoring and coordinating skills
• Active listening and eye for details
• A ‘cool head’ in emergency situations
• Respect for patients and keeping good relations with colleagues
• Professional and ethical.
• Full registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria with valid practice license.
• Good technical and theoretical knowledge of medical imaging techniques
• Knowledge of handling and operating unit equipment
• Resuscitation skills and procedures – Basic Life Support
