Job Title: Partner Technology Strategist

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • To be successful in the market, Microsoft needs to develop presales and delivery capacity through enabling our partners.
  • The PTS presents significant opportunities for Microsoft to win in the market through a deep and richly varied Partner ecosystem.
  • The PTS role is responsible for the technology enablement of all products with which we can build 'active' practices and growth and utilization of the Virtual Technical Solution Professional community.
Top Responsibilities
  • Enable partner technology capacity and capability that results in skilling of the individuals in the targeted partners as demonstrated by 3 successful sales wins per targeted workload at the partner.
  • Drive the Virtual Technical Solution Professional (V-TSP) Initiative in SMS&P through their targeted partner portfolio to allow scale co-selling in Corporate Accounts.
  • For those targeted on SMB: be inclusive of Distributor and VAR on product enablement in alignment with Cloud Enablement goals.
Duties
The Partner Technology Strategist will:
  • Assess Capability: Determine the technology sales capacity and maturity of Partners by using a consistent assessment process.
  • Plan Capacity: Apply an established set of criteria to provide a foundation for the Microsoft Partner's development plan, and establish 'gives and gets' with the partner to enable execution.
  • Collaboration & Team Work: Help support the Partner business planning process, partner portfolio development, sales pipeline reviews, periodic business reviews. Key roles would be Partner Sales Manager, Partner Practice Recruiter, and Partner Sales Lead.
  • Self-Development: PTS's required to be Subject Matter Experts on stated workload and own V-TSP community
Requirements
  • A proven track record of developing, implementing, & representing cross-group initiatives is critical.
  • A BS/BA is required along with 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • Management Experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to accommodate 30%+ travel requirements and the ideal location would be in WECA.

The Engagement Manager (EM) is responsible for engagement delivery quality and customer satisfaction by structuring and managing deals through completion. The Engagement Manager role owns the problem statement from the perspective of the customer. This role has the responsibility of assembling the consulting delivery team and ensuring the team both structures and executes on the problem solving methodology correctly and to the agreed budget.

The EM:
  • Manages engagement risk and delivery quality.
  • Establishes the processes to support the engagement, including setting up charge codes, defining the project calendar, and defining deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures.
  • Project initiation also includes validating scope, conducting project kickoff and holding Conditions of Satisfaction (COS) discussions with stakeholders.
  • Tracks the performance of the engagement, the quality of project deliverables and reports on the effectiveness of the engagement against the baseline plan.
  • Builds his/her time into engagements as appropriate to allow for mitigation of engagement risk and to achieve the required level of billable utilization set by the business.
  • Reviews and approves consultant and partner billable hours and expenses each week, and reviews and approves client invoices before they are sent.
  • Defines in advance the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, works with the team to establish delivery dates for each deliverable, and oversees the review of client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria, securing sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SOW.
Qualifications
  • BA or Master's degree
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer/Partner
  • Relationships, Product & Technology Expertise, Project Management, Strategic Insight
  • IT Implementation (e.g. CMM and CMMI), IT Service delivery and Support (e.g. ITIL Foundation), Project Management fundamentals (e.g. PMI or equivalent) and Industry-specific certifications (as and if applicable).

Our team in Nigeria is looking for a Channel Executive within the western region, who will align the distribution strategy with the customers & Distributor Partners within the region to drive Sell-Thru & Sell-out and ensure proper demand penetration and synergizing the Microsoft Devices Group Distributor Partners to drive volume.
Role Purpose
  • The role exists to manage sales motions with key industry / territory partners. Those partners provide Microsoft Devices Group the best opportunity to grow our market share in key product and workload solutions and solve customer business issues with Microsoft Devices Group technology with a focus on deployment, through retail channels which is instrumental to our partner ecosystem.
Key Accountabilities
  • Drive new revenue opportunities for Microsoft Devices Group through a defined portfolio of industry / territory partners and develop direct, high-value, business relationships.
  • Reach individual revenue & selected scorecard targets through indirect sales management.
  • Development of a joint Go to Market Sales Plans (Joint target accounts, Develop sales plays to increase pipeline and improve closure rates.
  • Actively identify, drive & own selected Partner-led Microsoft Devices Group pipeline and conduct opportunity reviews that enable joint selling across the ecosystem.
  • Develops strong and capable partners to achieve sales targets that results in growth of mutual businesses and profitability. (E.g. inspect and increase partner sales capacity and capability, adoption/usage MS Sales resources, coordination with MS technical and solution pre-sales resources).
  • Measure and manage portfolio success against metrics to maximize win-win results and strategic partner investments.
  • Ensure that objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume, margin, quality and trade prices.
  • Provide executive engagement and partner advocacy that leads to world class partner satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Business school graduate preferably an MBA degree holder with 6+ years of experience in Sales and retail marketing and having relevant experience in Key Account / Sales Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships with our customer, and with regional teams.
  • Customer focused, very responsive, and action oriented to meet partner needs while maintaining a positive, professional image of Microsoft Devices Group.
  • Proven track record working with different cultures and business disciplines.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • The Regional manager must be strong at anticipating customer needs and expectations, managing day-to-day business, and communicating customer requirements within the Microsoft Devices group.
  • Based on a solid market and customer understanding he/she prepares sales plans that provide value to the customer and Microsoft Devices Group and thus influences sell through decisions to grow the Microsoft Devices Group business in the region.
  • He/she should be able to manage an efficient and effective regional team through on-job training, motivation and staff development in order to protect the brand, market share and trade programs.
  • Be a leader in sales and been able to drive competitive retail sales through our distribution channels as well as well manage our clients and customer bases. Also ensure that product trainings are duly aligned and back checks in regard are executed to drive the results.
