Job Title: Payables & Receivables Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and trainable Payables & Receivables Accountant to support the finance team.
• The ideal candidate will handle general accounting tasks, bank transactions, data entry, and payment processing, while assisting in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Filing of accounting documents
• Bank deposit of cheques and cash
• Updating and maintaining accounting journals and ledgers
• Reconciliation of Admin and Procurement priority lists
• Tracking inflows from clients in line with confirmed orders
• Receiving cash/cheques from clients at the showroom daily
• Timely capture of receipts, statement of accounts, proformas, and invoices
• Daily posting of all client bank inflows
• Identifying completed jobs monthly for invoicing
• Imputing data and initiating payments on banking portals
• Petty cash management
• Timely and accurate preparation of cash/payment vouchers
• Proper registration of approved cheques
• Ensuring form accuracy and transfer transaction completion
• Posting of all petty cash vouchers to the correct GL account (daily and weekly)
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Senior Accounts Officer or Head of Finance

Requirements & Qualifications

• HND/B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–4 years prior experience as a Payables Accountant
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• High level of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly (Net).
