Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Procurement Manager to oversee and manage procurement activities across its upstream, midstream, and downstream space technology operations.
- This role is critical to ensuring the timely sourcing of high-quality, mission-critical materials, components, and services required for research, development, manufacturing, integration, and deployment of space systems.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, compliance, and cost control within a high-precision, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s space technology operations and long-term objectives.
- Plan and manage procurement activities supporting R&D, prototyping, production, integration, and deployment phases.
- Forecast material and service requirements across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
Supplier Sourcing & Management:
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage local and international suppliers of space-grade components, materials, and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic and mission-critical suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
Contracting, Negotiation & Cost Control:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, quality, delivery timelines, and contractual terms.
- Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality or mission reliability.
- Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
Inventory, Logistics & Operations Support:
- Coordinate logistics, storage, and handling of sensitive and high-value space technology components.
- Work closely with Engineering, Software, QA, Finance, and Operations teams to support seamless project execution.
- Manage urgent and critical procurement needs to prevent operational delays.
Compliance, Quality & Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, regulatory standards, and export control requirements.
- Enforce documentation, traceability, and quality standards for all procured items.
- Mitigate procurement and supply chain risks related to long lead times, single-source suppliers, and sensitive technologies.
Reporting & Leadership:
- Prepare procurement reports, budgets, and performance metrics for management review.
- Lead and develop the procurement team, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience handling high-precision or mission-critical components is an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a regulated environment.
- Minimum of 5–7 years relevant procurement experience, preferably in technology, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier qualification.
Salary
- N300,000 - N400,000 monthly.
