Procurement Officer at Tomato Jos Farming and Processing Limited

Tomato Jos is a private equity-backed, fast-growing social enterprise located in Kaduna, Nigeria, that believes in the power of local production for local consumption. Our company aims to supply 10% of the processed tomato market in Nigeria within the next 5 years, sourcing tomatoes from smallholder farmers within our network and making high-quality branded consumer products for Nigeria and West Africa. We currently work with farmers in the Kaduna area, and we are building a tomato processing facility that will be commissioned in2021, which will enable us to make value-add tomato products, including tomato paste and Tomato mix.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Description

• Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
• Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
• Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, products and services to be purchased.
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
• Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
• Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
• Ensure that the products and supplies are the best quality.
• Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
• Work with team members and procurement manager to complete duties as needed.
• Review and analyses all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
• Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
• Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase, pricing records, and other important data
• Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Creating and maintaining good vendor/supplier relations and negotiating contracts.

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with 3 - 5 years work experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
• Data Analysis, and Organizational Skills
• Good Business Instincts.
• Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
