Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring the timely sourcing of goods and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery standards.
  • The role will support operational efficiency by driving strategic sourcing, supplier management, and compliance with procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Execute end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, and purchase order processing
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and reliability
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service-level agreements to achieve value for money.

Cost Control & Compliance:

  • Monitor procurement spend and support cost optimization initiatives
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by providing procurement documentation.

Inventory & Operations Support:

  • Work closely with finance, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of goods and services
  • Track inventory levels and support demand planning where applicable
  • Resolve procurement-related issues impacting business operations.

Vendor & Contract Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, or cost issues
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, and procurement documentation

Reporting:

  • Prepare procurement reports on spend analysis, supplier performance, and cost savings
  • Maintain up-to-date records of purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries

Requirements & Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–8 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain roles
  • Experience working in a structured corporate, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or service environment is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement/ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good understanding of procurement best practices and sourcing strategies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
