Job Title: Procurement Officer (Steel Industry)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experience Procurement Officer with a strong background in the steel industry.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and procuring quality materials at competitive prices while ensuring timely delivery to support smooth operations within our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement effective procurement strategies for raw materials, machinery and services.
• Collaborate with the production and finance teams to forecast material requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and industry regulations.
• Track and report key procurement metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Identify reliable vendors and suppliers, evaluate quotations and negotiate favorable items.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and contracts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certificate is an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of steel products, raw materials and supply market trends.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Minimum of 4 years' proven experience in procurement within the steel industry (mandatory)
• Strong negotiation, communication and vendor management skills.
