We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Safety Assistant

Location: Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Duties

• Making sure that equipment is working properly, inspecting machinery for defects, and ordering repairs as needed
• Providing first aid in emergencies and monitoring the condition of ill workers until medical help arrives
• Observing work areas for unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to correct the issue
• Maintaining a safe work environment by following safety procedures, rules, and regulations
• Educating employees about safety rules and regulations, equipment usage, and accident prevention techniques
• Preparing workers for emergencies by conducting fire drills and evacuation simulations
• Maintaining records of accidents, injuries, and near misses to help prevent future incidents
• Training new workers in safety procedures and performing routine inspections to ensure compliance

Requirements

• NCE / ND / HND in Safety Management, Engineering or relevant field is preferred
• Certificate in occupational health and safety
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Diligent with great attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
• Proven experience as safety assistant
• In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus

Salary
N70,000 - N90,00 monthly.
