Samcham Holdings Limited is a company incorporated in 1991 as Clearing and Shipping Agent. We are duly registered with the Nigeria Customs Services, Nigeria Port Plc and Nigeria Maritime Authority as a licensed Clearing and Shipping Agent.

The company has diversified into haulage and petroleum products retail services The company has a fleet of over 50 American Mack Trucks in her haulage department to complement and improve services to our clients.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Shipping Officer

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We need candidates who have previously worked on ships, vessels and have cleared containers from these vessels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the company’s shipping plans and procedures.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including labels, barcodes, invoices, and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with terminals, warehouse staff, and transport personnel to ensure timely loading and dispatch of shipments.
• Use shipping and logistics software to record data and print necessary documentation.
• Ensure proper handling and packaging of goods before dispatch.
• Support inventory checks related to shipping schedules.
• Follow up with receiving teams to confirm deliveries and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory shipping standards.
• Track shipments and update relevant parties on shipment status and location.
• Handle communication with internal departments and external vendors regarding shipment details.
• Identify and promptly report delays, issues, or discrepancies in the shipping process to the Shipping Manager.
• Maintain organised records of all shipping transactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager or other superiors.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an HND / OND / NCE with at least 5 years of experience.
• Good understanding of shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of logistics software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with customs procedures and shipping documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Salary
N96,500 monthly.
