Job Title: Tax Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary 

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in tax compliance, planning, and advisory services, with the ability to ensure full regulatory compliance while identifying tax-saving opportunities for the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file accurate tax returns within statutory deadlines.
  • Advise management on tax strategies, planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Support tax audits and prepare required documentation for tax authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

Professional Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in tax accounting or auditing.
  • Proven experience in preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Hands-on experience in tax planning and advisory services.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of local and international tax codes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and other related software).
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and tax computations.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify tax-saving opportunities.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
