Job Title: Technology Manager

Location: Lagos

Reports to: Business Head

Purpose of the Role

  • The Technology Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing technologies that support the company’s asset financing operations. This includes tracking devices, security systems, credit-processing tools, loan repayment technologies, and digital platforms for both clients and employees.
  • The role ensures the organization remains technologically advanced, operationally efficient, and compliant with industry best practices. Responsibilities also include researching high-quality global suppliers, managing technology partnerships, and recommending innovative solutions that enhance overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
Technology & Supplier Research (Tracking and Security Technologies):

  • Conduct ongoing research to identify professional, reliable, and high-quality suppliers of:

    • Vehicle tracking technology
    • Tracking devices and GPS units
    • Asset security-related hardware and software
    • Telematics and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies used in asset finance
  • Evaluate supplier products for performance, durability, reliability, and operational compatibility.
  • Perform comparative analysis, including cost-benefit reviews, industry benchmarks, and technological sustainability.
  • Present well-structured recommendations to senior management for supplier selection.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all technology-related suppliers and third-party partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure seamless communication and timely support.
  • Oversee Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Credit, Telecoms, Insurance, Tracking, Collections, Asset Recovery, etc.) for effective technology performance.
  • Manage supplier onboarding, renewal negotiations, performance evaluations, and transitions to new vendors when required.

Technology Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on technological developments relevant to vehicle asset financing, including:

    • Tracking and telematics systems
    • Digital KYC and credit assessment technologies
    • Mobile apps for clients and employees
    • AI-driven analytics, automation, and risk-assessment tools
    • Cybersecurity solutions
    • Emerging fintech or mobility-related technologies
    • Loan repayment and digital payment platforms
    • Collections and portfolio management systems
    • CRM systems and client engagement platforms
  • Conduct periodic technology audits to identify gaps and propose enhancements.
  • Advise management on which technologies to adopt, upgrade, or phase out.
  • Oversee the implementation of approved new technologies in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ensure technology solutions align with organizational strategy, operational needs, and customer experience objectives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Quality and reliability of selected technology suppliers
  • Timely resolution of technology-related issues through supplier support
  • Cost-effectiveness and ROI of technology investments
  • Adoption rate and effectiveness of new systems introduced
  • Contribution to maintaining innovation and competitive advantage
  • Number and impact of implemented technology recommendations
  • Operational efficiency improvements attributed to technology upgrades
  • Supplier performance against SLAs and internal standards

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Experience in managing external vendors and negotiating technology contracts.
  • Background in fintech, asset financing, telematics, or digital transformation is highly advantageous.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in technology management, vendor management, or IT procurement—preferably in financial services, telecommunications, or mobility industries.
  • Strong understanding of tracking devices, IoT technologies, and digital platforms.
