BantuPage is a social media company focusing on documentaries, educational content, films, and other trends. We intend to create an authentic Nigerian and Africa-centric genre of filmmaking to awaken the black man and also touch on areas others choose to ignore.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Trend / Content Specialist

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Description 

  • We seek someone who can flood our social media platforms and website with trends and news from Nigeria, Africa, and the world. They should have a broad knowledge of current affairs and stories making headlines in Nigeria and globally. They should possess a faultless command of the English language.
  • We are looking for a versatile, experienced, and knowledge-packed individual to flood our social media platforms, YouTube, and website with captivating stories and trends and news making headlines in Nigeria, Africa, and the world. The ideal candidate should be a powerhouse storyteller with the unwavering writing ability to bring life to any story. We intend to harness and convert such ability into content and trends to constantly place our various platforms as a source of new gossip, trends, and headlines.
  • The ideal candidate should understand the difference between UK and US English. They should also have a faultless command of either written or oral English variants. They are expected to feed daily updates on trends, buzz news, and headlines to our growing audience to transform our current standing on the various social media platforms into full-time news outlets.
  • At BantuPage, we don't offer remote or hybrid working. A physical working environment has been proven to improve and enhance team spirit and the relationship between the company and its staff.
  • All staff at BantuPage are required to turn up for work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reference will be required directly from your previous employment to ascertain your work history; you must cooperate with this.
  • A paid fortnight to a month's trial is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Come to work five days a week (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). (No remote or hybrid is offered at BantuPage.)
  • constantly reviewing the performance of our various platforms and implementing the necessary changes to reflect our values.
  • Trends and news don't end when working hours end at 5 p.m.; thus, we continued researching outside working hours to demonstrate our position as a news outlet. (Litigation will apply to make up for every extra hour put in.)
  • Presenting daily trends to management for approval or editing where necessary
  • Proactively digging into stories and using your skills to make content from them for our platforms
  • Liaising with other team members, guiding them to stick to your stories
  • Present upcoming trends and stories for pre-publishing.
  • To take control of our various platforms, making sure that they are relevant.
  • You may be required to present live or pre-recorded on camera to present weekly findings on headlines within Nigeria and the world.
  • A camera-friendly personality is essential, as frequent appearances on our shows are part of the BantuPage family.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 4 years work experience.
  • Advanced level of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Canva, PremierPro, CapCut, etc. (Proficiency in Canva and CapCut is essential).
  • outspoken, engaging, and a team player
  • Provide comparative analysis between us and our competitors.
  • Provide KPIs and other measurements clarifying where the company stands.
  • You are required to be politically inclined, as there will be a lot of political content going around.
  • You must be an avid reader in a variety of areas to understand and fulfil your role.
  • creative writer who can research and share ideas to be converted into trends and content for our platforms
  • flexible and working outside working hours if necessary to make sure BantuPage releases stories first.
  • Proactive in picking up upcoming stories, news, and other programmes or events to spearhead the company from others.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
