The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, emergency food security, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors. We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below: Job Title: Finance Coordinator Location: Maiduguri, Borno Job Description

  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  • Support project staff in financial matters
  • Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow for the area
  • Ensure reconciliation of all balance accounts on a monthly basis
  • Ensure proper filing of financial documents according to donor requirements
  • Following up and ensuring that advances are settled in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with field office and CO finance staff for scanning and archiving of financial documents
  • Ensure that all costs are booked into Agresso on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Adequate supervision of 1finance officer and 2 finance assistants
  • Coordinate weekly meetings between finance staff for information sharing
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings
  • Management of support team
  • Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures
  • Ensure that staff salaries are properly recorded in Agresso accordi ng to budgetary allocations.
  • Follow-up on cash projections and cash availability for program activities
  • Ensuring that all payment vouchers are properly stamped @PAID@ before filing.
  • Performing and following up on any other duties assigned by line manager
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Finance Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Significant experience in Finance in an NGO setting
  • Contextual knowledge of north east Nigeria (Borno State) preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination and representational skills.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • University Degree in Accounting, Management Science, Social Science or any other relevant field
  • Advanced degree would be an additional advantage
  • Membership of a professional body e.g ICAN, ACCA, ANAN Is desirable
  • Fluency in English & Hausa, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license/ National means of Identification

Job Title: HR/Admin Coordinator Location: Maiduguri Commencement: 25th May 2017 Contract period: 31 December 2017 (with possibility of extension) Job Summary
  • In the coming months, the main focus for NRC would be conflict affected populations including IDPs, returnees and the local communities in Borno State. NRC has started activities in the area of food security, water and sanitation, ICLA and shelter/NFI sectors.
  • NRC is therefore seeking a HR/Admin Coordinator in the NRC field office in Maiduguri, borno State, Nigeria to Coordinate and provide HR and administrative support to the NRC field office in Maiduguri and hence support NRC in achieving its goal of reaching out to the most vulnerable internally displaced people. The HR/Admin Coordinator reports to the Area Manager

Job Description
  • Implement NRC's systems and procedures at area level
  • Ensure development and implementation of administrative systems and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and the national labor law in all processes and procedures
  • Advice in personnel conflicts/processes when relevant
  • Coordinate staff recruitment and exits, introductions, trainings, staff benefits schemes etc.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities, lawyers etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of staff salaries
  • Ensure that staff records in all offices in the area are up to date and filed appropriately
  • Ensure a good management of all administrative contracts: Cleaning, Ticketing, Premises rent, e.t.c
  • Maintaining the condition of the office, guest house, warehouse and arranging for necessary repairs
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings
  • Management of support team
  • Organising meetings and taking notes
  • Household and office supply management
Qualifications
