We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Laundry Worker Location: Calabar Job Brief

• The major function is the safe and efficient operation of the heavy laundry equipment in the cleaning of all types of linens, clothes, etc. Detailed procedures are laid down for the incumbent to follow and work is checked for conformance to institutional standards.
• Sorts, classifies and processes soiled laundry.
• Operates heavy laundry equipment such as the tumblers and the extractors, loading and unloading laundry into and out of the machines.
• Determines the proper washroom formula to apply in a particular run, adds the formula to the washing.
• Sorts out the clean laundry and delivers it to the wards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of washing products, types of fabric, and the proper laundry procedures of each type.
• Follow health and safety regulations
• Be self-motivated
• Be interested in providing a high quality service
• Ability to make wash tests and interpret the test results.
• Ability to supervise and instruct subordinates engaged in laundry activity.
• Have good communication skills
• Have excellent team-working skills
• Operate machinery

Education, Training and Experience:

• Basic education and successful completion of Laundry Course.
• ND/degree and proficiency in Computer/office work apps will be an added advantage.

Physical Standards:

• Physically capable of performing the duties assigned.
