Job Title: Video Editor / Colorist
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

• Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
• Prepare rough and final cuts for the videos
• Input effects, graphics, dialogues, and music into the videos to make them more visually appealing
• Insert music and necessary sound effects to the video clips
• Improving and correcting lighting, coloring and faulty footage
• Collaborate with the film’s director and director of photography to decide on a color scheme that will best fit the film’s mood.
• To screen, evaluate and HD DI color correct feature films, utilizing Autodesk Lustre for restoration.
• To remaster archival feature footage to HD.
• Perform DI on major feature films, commercial and special projects.
• To get the best creative look from the raw camera negative
• To use colour editing software in order to make the production more appealing
• Collaborate with stakeholders from production to post-production process
• Monitor all technical aspects of recording and editing
• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
• Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file

Qualifications

• OND / HND / B.Sc  certificate
• At least 2 years of work experience.
• Experience working on branded video content is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to keep the team up to date on project timelines
• Very organised, goal-oriented, and can drive results while multi-tasking priorities
• Good knowledge of Google Workspace
• A lot of energy, passion and enthusiasm
• Great Videography / Video Editing portfolio
• Skilled with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci Resolve, etc and a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as it applies video post-production
