Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of a WASH Technical Assistant, who will be responsible to ensure the sustainable quality implementation of WASH construction activities in Kaga and Konduga LGAs ommunity health volunteers keeping continuous update and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake regular field visits to monitor construction activities.
  • Compile feasibility and other technical report for information and guidance in Action against Hunger.
  • Submit technical report and consumption report to the WASH Engineer;
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly reports.
  • Provide full support to WASH Engineer in maintaining regular contact with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide daily update 9including progress, challenges and complaints) of construction work.
  • Ensure the WASH activities are up to the Action Against Hunger WASH program standards.
  • Conduct sanitary survey for each WASH activities;
  • Ensure that work meets with SPHERE minimum standards;
  • Assist and participate in community mobilization and capacity building;
  • Conduct daily technical supervision on ongoing construction;
  • Assist in preparing training tools on relevant technical topics and conduct trainings for stakeholders.
  • Assist the WASH Engineer in the development of technical guidelines and tools;
  • Build relationships with local government to exchange information on WASH technical implementation status.
  • Participate in project staff meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building and Geology with minimum of 1 year field experience.
  • Microsoft Office and designing software Skills (AutoCAD, Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Fluency in Hausa and English.
  • Professional Membership Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is desirable.
  • Previous experience in supervising drilling and construction activities.
  • Professional, good organizational capacity and motivated.
  • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible.

Starting Basic Salary

  • NGN216,006 per month (excluding other benefits).
