Land-based Engineer Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Land-based Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in Agricultural engineering or any other engineering discipline.
Problem-solving ability
Ingenuity, to invent new designs or solutions
Ability to work in a team and supervise the work of others
An understanding of health and safety regulations
Good spoken and written communication skills
IT skills.
Awareness and understanding of the needs of those who use the equipment, particularly farmers and horticulturalists
Excellent business and management skills
A flexible approach, with the ability to work unsupervised and to adapt to a variety of different work situations
Capability to record and analyse data
