Speech and Language Therapist Duties & Responsibilities

The role and function of a Speech and Language Therapist includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Undertaking patient assessments
  • Maintaining records and case notes
  • Liaising with doctors, physiotherapists, teachers and family members and carers
  • Performing controlled therapy sessions with individuals, groups and/or families.
  • Planning and providing appropriate treatment
  • Giving advice and support to patients, family members and teachers
  • Writing reports
