Web Master Duties & Responsibilities

The role and function of a Web Master includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining websites and pages for clients, customers and businesses.
  • Ensuring proper operating of web servers, hardware and software.
  • Website design.
  • Server administrator duties and responsibilities.
  • Managing and tracking user access rights on website.
  • Managing configuration of servers hosting the applications.
  • User experience testing.
  •  Fixing and managing broken links.
  • Managing site's content.
  • Site traffic optimization, examination and analysis.
  • Using Javascript and other scripting languages.
  • Configuring Apache and other web servers.
  • Testing various browsers and adjusting code accordingly.
