Job Title: Senior Treasury Accountant

Purpose Statement

  • The position will assist the Finance Manager: Tax & Treasury in the daily management of the company’s cash position, reconciliation of ledger, bank balances and preparation of cash forecast
Principal Accountabilities
  • Fund Management-track availability and ensure efficient use of Company’s funds.
  • Ensure timely preparation of local payments which includes but not limited to issuing cheques, bank instructions and weekly payment reports.
  • Daily and weekly monitoring of Company’s cash position and reporting.
  • Manage petty cash for Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan & Lagos Offices and Company Fuel.
  • Prepare monthly payment reports.
  • Management & Reconciliation of Employees Advance Ledger.
  • Monthly bank balances and ledger reconciliations.
  • Timely resolution of all bank issues.
  • Monthly preparation of cash forecasts and commitment schedules.
  • Maintain and manage all financial records, logs, spread sheets, and registers
  • Any other tasks assigned by the manager.
Experience
  • The job holder must have a Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience especially in a treasury or Accountant/Analyst role.
  • Candidate must also possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in cash management.
  • Possession of ICAN/ACCA certificate will be an added advantage.
Knowledge:

Job Title: Legal Support Officer

Purpose Statement

  • To provide administrative and legal support to the Executive Head of Department (EHoD) Legal, Regulatory and Compliance and to work closely with other managers and members of the department.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Managing the EHODs correspondence such as typing, drafting of memo/letters as appropriate.
  • Screening the EHOD’s telephone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate & processing payments.
  • In-basket, files & correspondence management within the department.
  • Administrative and housekeeping support within the department.

  • Scheduling/organizing meetings, maintaining diaries and booking of appointments.

Purpose Statement

  • Handle commercial-legal and regulatory issues within the company with the purpose of eliminating legal and contractual risk and gaining for the company every lawful advantage.
Principal Accountabilities/Objectives
  • Handle drafting, reviewing and negotiation of vendor and supplier contracts.
  • To ensure that all Company businesses are conducted within the ambits of the law with adequate compliance with all statutory industry Regulations and provisions
  • Coordinate application processes for frequencies and licences at the NCC as well as associated periodic reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all immigration rules and regulations.
  • To support in reducing contract turn-around time by coordinating contract execution process, quality checks and the dispatch and movement of contracts and Legal documents in and out of the department.
  • Provide support on company secretariat tasks, draft resolutions as required from time-to-time and advise on relevant corporate law requirements as well as coordinate company corporate filings and returns.
  • To carry out legal research of applicable laws and regulations and provide legal guidance and opinion so as to ensure that all companies actions and dealings are in compliance therewith.

Requirements

  • Responsible for monitoring, ascertainment and management of regulatory matters and Government relations.
  • Preparation/vetting, negotiation and execution of Customer and Supplier contracts and other agreements, provision of routine and ad hoc legal/ regulatory advices and generally anticipating, proactively evolving ways and means of protecting the Company from legal and regulatory challenges and reducing/mitigating or eliminate regulatory and contractual risks and monitoring legal, institutional and regulatory developments that impact on the Company.
  • Direct the development/implementation of Legal and policies compliance as well as monitor the effectiveness of identified control measures throughout the organization.
Principal Accountabilities/Objectives
  • Preparation/vetting, negotiation and execution of legal documents [Supplier Contracts, Customer Contracts and Leases]
  • Contract management.
  • Develops compliance organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Monitoring effectiveness of identified internal control measures.

  • Well sharpened inter personal skills and ability to interact, work with and interface with all authorities within the legal, regulatory and institutional space of the Company including regulators, line ministries, National Assembly as and when due.
  • Build trust and maintain values that ensure mutual respect between the Company and other government agencies.
